Who will need to open an eTAX - ITP Account (including Hong Kong residents and Mainland residents):

  • Individual who wishes to handle tax matters of his/her own online
  • Individuals who are appointed by an entity to handle its tax matters online via the Business Tax Portal (BTP) or the Tax Representative Portal (TRP)
  • Direct Login
    • Users of “iAM Smart”, “iAM Smart+” or holders with personal digital certificate issued by a recognized certification authority may login to the ITP direct. No account registration is required.
    • For direct login to the ITP, go to the login page of the ITP and select “Continue with iAM Smart” or “Login by Digital Certificate” as appropriate. Follow the instructions to link up “iAM Smart” or activate the digital certificate for direct login to the ITP.
  • Password Login
    • Individuals who are holders of an eTAX Account before 21.7.2025 may login to the ITP with their TIN (for eTAX login) and password in the same manner as before. No need to register for an ITP Account.
    • New users would need to register for an ITP Account and obtain an access code in order to login to the ITP for the first time via “Password Login”.
    • To register for a new ITP Account, go to the login page of ITP and select “New Registration”. Follow the instructions to complete the account registration process.
  • Please click on the button under “Quick Links” to open an ITP Account.
  • Free of charge
  • Applicants with “iAM Smart” or personal digital certificate can login to the ITP directly.
  • Other applicants can complete the registration process after receiving the access code.
    • The access code may be sent by post to the applicant’s correspondence address per IRD’s database (within 2 working days of the online application) or by SMS.
    • Applicants should update their correspondence address, if required, before applying for an access code to be issued by post.
    • After receiving the access code, applicants may go to the login page of the ITP and select “Continue with Access Code”. Follow the instructions to complete the account registration process.
  • Contact the IRD at +852 183 2011 if the access code has not been received within a reasonable time.
