Application for Supply of Information on the Business Register and Duplicate of a Valid Business Registration Certificate

The following information and documents are available for application through eTAX at GovHK:

• Electronic extract of information on the Business Register
• Certified extract of information on the Business Register
• Certified copy of a valid business/branch registration certificate
• Duplicate of a valid business/branch registration certificate

Note:

The purpose of issuing copies of business registration documents and/or extracts of information on the Business Register through the public search service is to enable any person to ascertain whether a business is registered under the Business Registration Ordinance (Chapter 310, Laws of Hong Kong) and the particulars of the businesses so registered, in accordance with section 19B of that ordinance (“Public Search Purpose”).

Any person accessing or obtaining information on the Business Register shall comply with the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486, Laws of Hong Kong) (“PDPO”) in respect of the use of personal data and shall not use such personal data for any purposes other than the Public Search Purpose or any purposes not directly related to the Public Search Purpose.

Applicants for electronic extracts or certified extracts of information of sole proprietorships or partnerships on the Business Register are required to provide their particulars and to declare that:

• the information obtained from that application will only be used for activities relating to Public Search Purpose; and
• the personal data obtained from the application will be used in a manner consistent with the provisions of the PDPO.
